Really difficult weekend for Gus, Jonas and the whole team. We were very confident after tests as they went really well but it shows just that sometimes it still will not work in the rally as some decisions nade during the test didnt work in the rally. Poland was so extremely highspeed rally that confidence needs to be more than 100% to car and driving and if its not the result is as we got this time.
We tried all possible to make it work but nothing really help to the setup mistake we had, when we found out the reason it was just way too late to do anything.
Gus was driving really well and tried hard, sometimes too hard even and the driving broke, lost all confidence and feeling.
Mentally it’s very hard to fight in these situations but these are also the moments when you learn most.
We have analyzed the rally and know areas we need to make different decisions for Latvia and Finland. The fun continues soon.
My next coaching event is starting tomorrow in Baja Italy. First time for me in this kind of event, so im very excited for a new experience. After Italy I go nearly direct to Mexico again.
