I had the change to visit Australia and have a 2 day training camp in a great farm called Skid Control, drivers compound.
There were 8 participants. We were lucky with weather as forecast was not so good and traditionally Aussieroads are very slippery when wet.
We started the camp with a theory session, where I explained my philosophy for notes, driving, mental and physical parts of the big picture. This was already on Friday as weather made us change timetables just incase but like I said we got lucky after all.
I had two guys to help me with coaching, Paul Pyyvaara and Ryan Williams. Dylan Cothill had prepared the stages perfectly and Russell Hewitt was in charge of cars leaving to stages. BIG thanks to you all for your help and input. Much Appreciated.
After the theory we continued the camp with reccetraining and very quickly realized the need for this as all drivers had different kind of weaknesses in their notes or how they made them. After making some changes all drivers started to much more confident and realized that my way of teaching notes making was working really well.
After good few hours of practice it was time to put it to reality and start driving from the made notes. We had 3 different stages next to each other which meant that we could have 3 cars driving all the time. We all were really happy with the work we had done in just few hours of driving
Last day of driving started very wet but luckily if the stages get slippery quickly they also dry, so actually we had perfect conditions in these days as drivers got all possible road conditions.
I hope and feel like this was a start of something new in Australia rally community. There has not been really rally coaching before and we are trying to do this. All drivers, codrivers were very happy after the days and all crew members worked faultless together.
We have already started to plan the next events in 2025.
I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2025!
